Post NYE run with Karin, Reid, Dave, and Carrie – ALL SMILES!!
Wow what a year! 2008 was filled with so many great experiences, challenging times, but most of all health, happiness, and thankful for a great family!! Yesterday we spent our entire day doing everything that we love. We started the day off with an awesome, hard 4.2K swim set. It sure was tough, but nothing beats swimming with people that you love and who can push you ’til you feel like your about to drown
HA! Thanks Mo, Kim, Tom and Reid!! Did I mention this was at 5AM?!
Next on our busy agenda was a 45 min snuggle nap with Belle! Yes, we got to take a quick nap right after swimming with Belle, who had kept the bed warm for us
This was the BEST nap ever, it was just perfect since we were pretty tired from getting up at 4:30AM and swimming and we were cold. So a warm, snuggly nap was JUST RIGHT! Then it was time for oatmeal…..get dressed to bear the cold and go for a group ride. We headed out FREEZING at first, but Reid said we should start out hard to get warm. He was right and our hard effort to the start was a great way to warm up quick. The infamous “Bakery” ride started out small, but we picked up people along the way and it quickly turned into a 60+ person ride. All the normal people, plus some out of towners were on the ride.
It was fun and quite a brisk pace at times, but all great stuff to kick myself back into shape. I love it! At one point on the ride I heard a familiar voice ask me when I got my new “sweet Kueen K. ” Apparently Chris Lieto hasn’t seen me on it in quite some time, HA! Chris and I had a great little chat about some changes the both of us have made in terms of coaching. He too has made a change just a little later than I did. It’s all good now! What a great long ride, the longest I have ridden in quite some time.
When we got home from the ride, Belle was happy to see us as always, except this time she looked a little guilty. She had pulled a couple of Christmas cards off the fridge, but that was it, no big deal!! We played with her a bit, defrosted in the shower and then had a great lunch! We were pretty exhausted from a big morning and afternoon, but we still wanted to take Belle to her favorite place. We were off to the lake after lunch and had so much fun with Belle! She played so much and we practiced some search and rescue stuff. Super day thus far!!
Back at home we got dressed and ready to head out to our final workout of the day with more good friends. We went on a nice, easy run with friends and topped it off with a walk to Starbuck’s for more chatting and laughing!!
Lastly we headed home to play with Belle some more and get ready for a great dinner with good friends! What a night! We only made it ’til 11:45AM and then we were in bed and fast asleep!!
Cheers to an AMAZING 2009!! Get ready for some exciting times…..HAPPY, Fun, Dream fulfilling times!!
