Just want to say Thank you to Mel for the cool suit! I loved it and people asked who made it ;-) You are so awesome!!
I was hurting in all these pics, but at least my suit looked “sassy” as Mel would say ;-)
Have a great Friday!

Just a little exhausted……..

>>April 3rd, 2008

What an exciting, amazing, tough, words cannot accurately describe Month of March it has been……. I am officially exhausted! After 15 days in Oz, 60 hours of training, 42 hours of travelling, 18 hour time difference, more travelling (8 hours each way to Oceanside), racing (well some of it) a 1/2 IM, and 500+ emails to take care of at work………it hit me hard yesterday!! I had one of the worst migraines I have ever had.

My body is pretty tired today. I am still recovering from my 4 hour migraine. I was literally curled up in bed for 4 hours yesterday after work. I don’t get migraines often, but when I do, they hit me hard. I am much better today, but I think I still need to back off a bit, relax, breathe, and just slow down. I had way too much packed into the month of March and I am pretty sure my body was trying to tell me something yesterday!

I am really looking forward to getting back to feeling my normal perky self soon ;-)

Have a beautiful day!

Reid Rocks……

>>April 1st, 2008

This post is all about my best friend and husband, Reid. He is the sweetest and most giving person I have ever known. For those of you that know Reid, you would agree that he is someone that you cannot help but smile when you are around him. Well, I had been bummed over the weekend and all caught up in my issues, that I did not post about Reid’s amazing performance at Oceanside. Yes, he kicked butt!
Reid, being the selfless individual that he is, encouraged me to go to Oz on my own, while he would stay at home and take care of Belle, work, and coach the Tri California camps (he and I co-direct these camps and clinics as well). He was working tons while I was away and he barely had time to train since he would play with Belle, take her on long walks and then worry about his training. I know, he is awesome ;-) So, he was a little worried about how he would do at Oceanside.
He always takes care of me on race morning whether he is racing or not. He comes over to my rack to make sure I am all set. I try to do the same to him, but he beats me to it. On Saturday, he would be a little more reserved, quiet and focused. I knew he wanted to have a good day out there and he deserved it.
Well, Reid did it! He bettered his time by over 18 mins from last year and had one of the best runs off the bike that he has ever had. He looked amazing out there on the run and I was so proud of him. He really is my hero. He lives life the way we all should. Always smiling, always in a great mood, and always so giving of himself. I am one lucky girl to have him forever ;-)
